I was born and brought up in Ahmedabad. Marriage brought me to Indore 7 years ago. Frankly, I found the city lazy, total laid-back attitude in business and not at all professional. I continued working with my Ahmedabad based company for 3 years and then had to quit due to focus on family. Now, I was stuck up in this city that seemed drier than dry state of Gujarat - all shops close at 9pm (including malls) and it was all lack lustre from professional front.
Not able to bear the state I was put in, I immediately called up Jatin, when in September 2014 he announced that he wanted to take eChai to 100 cities. I wanted eChai to happen in Indore. eChai gave me opportunity to get connected to fantabulous people. Since October 2014, I have met amazing people who are so driven and passionate about their work and love the city so much that I forgive Β them for mentioning poha-jalebi even though it irritates me no end.Β
Within these last 2 years, I'm amazed to see so much of energy around. This city is growing and the people are doing really fun things. Cool startups, pro-active governance and awesome food to keep us going - this city is booming! Read this absolutely appropriateΒ article by Parveen Singhal, COO of #WittyFeed to know more about this city: If you miss this city now, don't complain! Come, stay here and experience Indore in the true Indori style.
What more do I say? #LetsDoMoreIndore! And do read the article, it's written by a non-Indori who is now a bona fide Indori! :-)
