Feature Parity

Matching the set of features a competitor or an older system offers, so customers do not lose anything by switching to you.

Why it matters

Feature parity can be necessary to win switchers, but chasing it endlessly turns you into a copy with no reason to exist. The art is knowing which features truly gate adoption and which are just noise.

For example

A new email client adds snooze, scheduling, and search to reach feature parity with Gmail, so switchers lose nothing by moving.
