Outcome-Based Pricing
Also called Pay per Outcome and Results-Based Pricing
Charging customers for each result the product delivers, such as a resolved support ticket or a qualified lead, rather than for seats or usage.
Why it matters
As AI agents do work that people used to do, charging per seat shrinks the vendor's revenue exactly when the product gets better. Pricing per outcome ties what the customer pays to what they get, but it needs a definition of success both sides agree on and can measure.
For example
A customer-support AI company charges a fixed fee for each conversation its agent resolves, and nothing for those handed to a human.
