How do I use Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) to study from my own notes and PDFs?

Use Gemini Notebook, called NotebookLM until July 2026, when answers must come from your own material. Make one notebook per subject and add your notes, PDFs, slides, web pages or a public YouTube lecture. The free plan takes up to 50 sources, each up to 500,000 words, and its answers stay grounded in what you uploaded. From the Studio panel you can make a study guide, a mind map, flashcards or a quiz at easy, medium or hard, or an Audio Overview in more than 80 languages to listen to on the way to class. Notebooks cannot see each other. ChatGPT study mode also reads uploaded notes, but Notebook is built to stay inside your sources. Still check the passage behind anything you will be examined on.
