The short answer
You can build from anywhere, but be honest about what a hub gives you: dense access to peers, capital, and talent that you'll otherwise have to manufacture deliberately. If you stay, over-invest in online communities, travel to a metro monthly for events, and build in public so distance stops mattering. If your ambition is venture-scale and your local ecosystem is thin, a stint in a hub early can be worth it, but it's a tactic, not a rule.
