Make your product

What labelling is legally mandatory on my packaging in India?

The short answer

For food, FSSAI mandates your license number, ingredients, nutritional info, veg/non-veg mark, manufacturer details, batch number and expiry, displayed in a contrasting colour, in English or Hindi at minimum. For packaged products sold via ecommerce more broadly, Legal Metrology rules require MRP, net quantity, and manufacturer/importer/packer and consumer-care details shown before purchase where possible, skipping this isn't a small risk, it can freeze your listing or trigger a recall.
