ROC Filing

Also called Registrar of Companies

Submitting required documents to the Registrar of Companies, the government body that maintains India's corporate records, for events like incorporation, share allotments, and annual returns.

Why it matters

Timely ROC filings keep an Indian company in good legal standing; missing them brings penalties and can complicate fundraising and diligence. It is routine but essential housekeeping that founders cannot afford to neglect.

For example

After allotting new shares in a round, the company files the required forms with the Registrar of Companies to keep its records in good standing.
