Is it safe to put my company's data into AI tools?
The short answer
It depends on your plan, not the brand. Consumer tiers of ChatGPT and Claude may train on your chats unless you opt out, while business tiers (ChatGPT Business/Enterprise, Claude Team/Enterprise, Gemini for Workspace) contractually exclude training and add SOC 2, DPAs, and admin controls. Practical hygiene: use a paid business plan, strip customer PII before uploading, and write down which data classes are never allowed in.
