How do I organize my finances so my family can find everything if something happens to me?

The short answer

A will decides who inherits, but your family still has to find what you owned, and founders tend to have assets scattered across banks, brokers, cap-table records, insurance, PPF, and more. The practical fix is a single, updated master document that lists your accounts, investments, insurance policies, loans and personal guarantees, property, and startup equity, with where each is held and who to contact. Note nominee details and where the original will is kept. Store it somewhere a trusted person can reach (a sealed copy, a secure shared vault) and tell one or two people it exists, without leaving passwords lying around in plain sight. Review it once a year. This costs nothing and spares your family weeks of guesswork at the worst possible time. Account and succession procedures change over time, so confirm specifics with your bank, CA, or lawyer. This is general education, not advice.
