Deepthi Babu, the founder of Salt World, is a compelling tale of innovation, perseverance, and the pursuit of holistic health solutions.
Deepthi’s path from a business student to a wellness pioneer is a mosaic of determination, introspection, and a relentless desire to make a difference. Her academic journey began with a BBA from the Vellore Institute of Technology in 2005, followed by an MBA from Ohio University in 2006. However, the seeds of her future endeavor were perhaps sown much earlier, during an unexpected school event involving a speech on sodium chloride that sparked a latent interest in salt-based therapies.
Before Salt World came into being, she navigated various roles across multiple industries. Despite her success, a sense of fulfillment eluded her. It was a quest for meaning and passion that led her to a fascinating article about Salt Therapy in Ireland. This discovery resonated with her, igniting a spark that would soon become a blazing trail in the wellness sector.
The Birth of Salt World
In 2017, Deepthi founded Salt World, marking the inception of an avant-garde wellness concept in India. The cornerstone of Salt World was its focus on Halotherapy, also known as Salt Room Therapy. This innovative treatment involves inhaling micron-sized salt particles in a controlled environment, offering numerous health benefits, particularly for respiratory and skin conditions.
Her vision was clear – to offer a unique, effective, and non-invasive therapy that could enhance overall well-being without the adverse effects often associated with conventional treatments.
Salt World’s journey began in Bangalore, a city grappling with widespread respiratory ailments. Recognizing the potential for Halotherapy in such an environment, she embarked on a mission to raise awareness and accessibility of this therapy.
