Gagan Agrawal
Gagan Agrawal works at Northern Sky Research (NSR) as an Analyst, Market Research and Consulting and is based out of Mumbai, India. He covers research on space and satellite communications, working on the crossroads of satellite technology, economics and finance.
He has a Master of Space Studies degree from International Space University, France and a Bachelor of Aerospace degree from Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, India.
Prior to NSR, he has worked with SES, involving strategic evaluation of shifts in video and media business due to disruptions from IP tech, telco networks and LEO constellations. Prior, he has worked for Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for 3 years stint in the field of Aerodynamics and Aeroelasticity as a Project Manager on the Reusable Launch Vehicle Technology Demonstrator Project (RLV-TD). His experience touches both theoretical simulation and wind tunnel experimentation side of launch vehicle technology. Prior to ISRO, Gagan had stints in Rocket motor design, control systems and plasma thrusters with Dept. of Space and Dept. of Atomic Energy during his undergraduate education. He also led a 25 member team for the IIST-ISRO Vyom Sounding Rocket Project as a Project Scientist and Systems Engineer, a project which enabled the first rocket to be launched by a student team in Asia
He has been published with Defense Research and Development Laboratory, India and International Astronautical Congress, Mexico. He has co-founded education startups Rocketeers and Delta(x), with key roles in R&D, teaching and strategic planning. He also has been a speaker to various schools, colleges, TEDx and youth forums speaking on education related issues.
