How do I get my brand cited by ChatGPT, Google's AI Mode and Perplexity?
Treat it as an addition to SEO, not a replacement. Google says AI Overviews and AI Mode need nothing beyond being indexed and eligible for a snippet, with no special AI files or markup. What these engines cite are pages that answer a buying question plainly: product pages with full specs, prices and real reviews, comparison and how-to pages, and mentions of your brand on sites they already trust (publications, marketplaces, Reddit threads, review roundups). For shopping answers, product data matters as much as prose: ChatGPT's shopping results read merchant product feeds and Shopify's catalogue, so keep titles, variants, prices and stock accurate everywhere you sell. Then check by hand each month: ask the five questions your buyers ask and note which brands get named.
