DPIIT Recognition

Also called Startup India Recognition

Recognition by India's Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, the official Startup India stamp that unlocks tax benefits, easier compliance, and access to government schemes and tenders.

Why it matters

DPIIT recognition gives eligible Indian startups tangible perks, tax exemptions, self-certification, and program access, for a fairly light application. For founders building in India, it is low-effort, high-value paperwork worth getting done.

For example

An Indian startup gets DPIIT recognition under Startup India, unlocking tax exemptions, self-certification, and access to government tenders.
