Series C and Beyond
Also called Series C and Late Stage
Later-stage rounds (C and beyond) raised by companies with substantial revenue, often to fund acquisitions, new lines of business, or a run at market leadership before an exit.
Why it matters
These rounds bring in growth funds and sometimes crossover and public investors, at valuations that assume an IPO or large acquisition ahead. The scrutiny is closer to that of a public company.
For example
A late-stage startup raises a 600 crore Series C from a growth fund to fund acquisitions and a run at market leadership before an eventual IPO.
