The short answer
Inbound means someone with the problem finds you while they are looking for an answer, and leaves you a way to follow up. For a startup with no audience that starts as a handful of pages that answer the exact questions your buyers type before they know products like yours exist. It is slow, it compounds, and it will do nothing for six months, which is why most teams quit. The honest tradeoff is this: outbound gives you conversations this week and stops when you stop, content gives you nothing this week and keeps working for years. Most early B2B companies need outbound first and should treat content as a deliberate second investment, not a substitute.
