More about Komal (Mall) Baldwa
Komal’s journey began in Cranfield University, where she found a love for marketing and a knack for business. Coming from true blue business blood, she knew the ropes from quite a young age, going with her grandfather to look over production when she was just 10!
When she started out with Bleü at the age of 36, she was met with doubt and questions from not only her family but also other businessmen. A Marwadi woman getting into the world of condoms was a big no-no, but she persevered and finally started Bleü, a healthier and safer contraceptive which put women’s wellness first.
Passionate about leveling the field between men and women, representation of women’s issues is a first priority in Komal’s list. As an early startup, there had been roadblocks and Bleü had to be bootstrapped by Komal herself, but now she adorns her failures just as much as her successes, with Bleü receiving accolades as the first vegan condom in the Indian market and bringing a new wave of thought in the world of contraceptives.
Recently Bleu has received a grant from Startup India fund t develop further products for female health and wellness.
