More about Shruthi Reddy

“Death is the only thing that's certain in life. Then why don't we have good funeral planners and technology aided software that aid in smooth post- death rites management "

Shruthi Reddy is a young entrepreneur from Hyderabad who envisions to implement innovations and technology in the funeral sector. Losing a loved one in a different country is the worst nightmare one can have. Adding to it is the highly un-organized and the existing pain staking clearances and processes involved in the transportation of mortal remains across borders.

Anthyesti aims to revolutionalise the industry by providing live updates of the beloved's mortal remains while it crosses the multiple checkpoints before the family finally receives them and to ease the complete clearance and documentation processes by implementing international code of conduct and practices in the Indian market for domestic and international exports.

Her NGO Anthyesti Foundation aims to create a total new industry i.e the funeral services industry where she envisages the dream to provide employment to millions in the form of hearse drivers, repatriation specialists , organ donation trainers, funeral helpers.

She has been the subject of Tollywood lately, inspired by her work in the funeral domain, a very renowned filmmaker Shiboprasad Mukherjee and Nandita Das of Windows Productions announced a commercial movie out of her biopic.

She has been selected as a National Entrepreneurship Awards 2018, under the logistics category. Her start up Anthyesti was amongst the 43 awards out of the 4000 applications that went to the central Govt. under the MSDE (Ministry Of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Initiative)

She is also among the top 10 finalists of WEQ (Women Entrepreneur Quest ) 2018, a joint initiative by GHCI (Grass Hopper Conference India) and IUSSTF (Indo US Science and Technology Forum ) as a part of which she has earned herself an all paid experiential trip to the Silicon Valley.

Her latest academic achievement is being a alumna of the 10,000 Women Goldman Sachs programme in collaboration with the prestigious IIM-B .

The eChai Effect - In Their Words

"eChai has played a truly pivotal role in HummingBird’s journey — even before Day Zero. From ideation to establishment and into growth, it’s been a constant source of support. It connected me with incredible people who’ve become more than just friends. One of the biggest reasons I chose to stay in Ahmedabad is because of the eChai community. It has shaped my growth — both personally and professionally — in ways that are hard to articulate. Honestly, words fall short when I try to express what eChai means to me. I’m deeply thankful and forever grateful to eChai for being such an integral part of my journey."

"After moving back from the USA, eChai became my go-to space to learn how the Indian startup ecosystem works. It offered direct exposure to startup thinking and a community that openly shares business insights. What stood out was how easy it was to connect, learn, and grow through real conversations. As we built our IT hardware rentals business, eChai helped us find our niche and refine our path. Proud and grateful to be part of this amazing community."

“You don’t plan to build a company via eChai. You just keep showing up … and one day, you realize you did.” I’ve known Jatin since 2012, when I was still deciding what kind of second innings I wanted to play as an entrepreneur. Over the years, through events, chai breaks, intros, and seemingly small conversations, eChai helped shape not just Upsquare but also refined the lens through which we see collaboration. At Upsquare, we’ve hired talent, met partners, discovered co-investors, and built lifelong friendships. One of our joint ventures exists today only because a casual eChai memory sparked a deeper trust. Now, as we build House of Starts — our venture builder — eChai continues to fuel our mission: co-creating a shared future. eChai isn’t just a startup network. It’s a trust network. And for business builders like me, that makes all the difference."
