Dr Priti Desai (M.Sc. PhD) is a co-founder of NIRAV Holdings, a company looking to invest in diverse portfolio of startups and MSMEs. NIRAV HOLDINGS aim to provide handhold companies with guidance and financial support to promising start-up in the field of healthcare particularly biopharma.
She has vast experience in product-oriented research as well as in teaching and administration. She was previously associated with Institute of Advanced Research (IAR), Gandhinagar and B.V. Patel PERD centre, Ahmedabad where she served role as HOD (Biotechnology), Assistant professor and scientist respectively.
During her research journey in PERD and IAR, she had developed oral mucosal vaccine against shigella and demonstrated its protective efficacy using in-house developed murine model. Her research work was recognised by many prestigious international and national scientific bodies in the form awards, research grants (from central governments) and research papers published in highly recognised international scientific journals.
