Shubham Jain, CFA

Investments Lead, Sinarmas Tech (VC)

As the Investments Lead at Sinar Mas, I manage investments in the early-stage tech ecosystem in India, scouting for promising startups and supporting them with capital, mentorship, and network. By educational qualifications, I am a CFA, with a Bachelor's Degree in Statistics from Kirorimal College, Delhi University.

Prior to joining Sinar Mas, I spent four years at Carpediem Capital Partners, a leading growth-stage PE fund in India, where I managed portfolio companies across various sectors, such as mobile retail, QSR, value retail, and microfinance. I was part of the deal team that successfully exited Yaantra, a mobile refurbishment platform, with a 4x return and a 33% IRR. I also contributed to the due diligence, documentation, and valuation of several deals in the consumer, consumer-tech, and business services space. I am passionate about finding and nurturing innovative and impactful businesses that can create value for all stakeholders.

The eChai Effect - In Their Words

"I attended my first eChai event 3 yrs back, and no one knew me in the market. Over the next three years, eChai didn’t only help me with knowledge or networking, but it gave me an identity from being unknown to now being recognized by a group of inspirational entrepreneurs connected with eChai, who have been gracious enough to acknowledge me and Digipple."

"From late-night brainstorming over chai to early morning founder calls, eChai has been more than just a network for me; it’s been home base for ideas, impact, and inspiration. What started as a simple meetup years ago turned into a powerful movement, connecting founders, creators, and dreamers. I’ve had the privilege of seeing startups find product-market fit, marketers (like me) find unexpected collaborations, and most importantly, people finding their tribe. संगच्छध्वं संवदध्वं – Let us move together, speak together. It’s not just a verse from the Rigveda — it’s how Jatin and the entire eChai community truly operate. We don’t just network, we grow together. Forever grateful to be a part of the eChai Effect.

"For me, eChai is a second home. I've been associated with it since the early days, when it was already setting a different tone for how startup communities could work. As a traditional business owner entering the new-age D2C space, eChai supported me in every direction. Over the years, it became my window to the startup world — and also gave me lifelong friends who continue to show up, for business and beyond."
