Cost Per Mille
Also called CPM and Cost Per Thousand
Cost per mille: the cost to show your ad one thousand times, the standard price unit for impression-based advertising.
CPM = (ad spend / impressions) x 1000
Why it matters
CPM is how brand and awareness campaigns are priced. Rising CPMs across a platform signal more competition for the same eyeballs, squeezing everyone's acquisition math.
For example
A brand campaign pays 300 rupees CPM, so reaching 1,00,000 people costs 30,000 rupees.
