Karthik Udayakumar is the second generation entrepreneur of Asian Spices. He completed B.Tech Chemical engineering in Coimbatore Institute of Technology in the year 2002 and joined the Family Spice business in the same year. Asian Spices is one of the leading Manufacturer and Exporter of Whole and Ground spices. As a Director of the Asian Spices, He is responsible for the overall Operations and Growth of the Company in terms of Developing Business Strategy, Procurement, Finance and Sales.
He has 19 years of experience in Seed spices industry and has travelled many countries for the promotion of exports in spices. He studied Family Businesses: Organization, Strategies, Internationalization and Succession at IIM, Ahmedabad in 2015.
Since last 5 years, Karthik is actively involved in Sustainable Sourcing of Spices, Identifying farmer clusters, Conducting workshops and training to the farmers for the procurement of IPM spices (Pesticide Residue Compliant) and promotion of Organic Farming. He is the Hon’ Secretary of Federation of Indian Spice Stakeholders (FISS), A Pan Indian Federation for the Spice fraternity and member of Product Advisory Committee for Cumin seed in NCDEX.
He is also the member of Seed Spices Task Force Committee formed by Spices Board, Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India for the promotion of Indian Spices.
