Marmik Bhatt is the Co-Founder and Director of Monk9 Tech Private Limited, a Gujarat-based semiconductor company driving India’s advancement in both legacy-node and advanced-node fabrication technologies. With a deep background in semiconductor design, fabrication, and EDA toolchain development, he has been instrumental in shaping Monk9 Tech’s vision of building “Fab 2.0” and “CMOS Baseline” facilities, targeting process nodes from 350 nm CMOS to 3 nm GAAFET architectures.

His expertise spans semiconductor manufacturing processes, process integration, equipment selection, open-source PDK development, and RTL-to-GDSII chip design flows. Under his leadership, Monk9 Tech is pioneering an ecosystem that blends academic, industrial, and MSME participation, ensuring India develops a self-reliant semiconductor value chain.

Marmik is also the creator of ChipMonk, a homegrown EDA platform integrating open-source flows, enabling startups and academia to access cost-effective chip design and tape-out solutions. Beyond technology, he plays a key role in fundraising, global partnerships, and strategic collaborations with industry leaders, investors, and academic institutes to accelerate India’s semiconductor journey.

His long-term vision is to position Monk9 Tech as a globally competitive semiconductor company, bridging the gap between legacy manufacturing for microcontrollers and automotive ICs and cutting-edge AI and quantum hardware R&D.
