About Jackie J. Thakkar:

I’ve spent my 20s studying in Los Angeles, interning in Dubai and finally working full-time in the Indian media industry. Perhaps it’s the bustling work-culture in the maximum city or the fact that it’s my hometown, but I have always been at my most self-motivated in aamchi Mumbai. Perhaps that's also why I've excelled most in my career since moving back to the homeland.
Apart from my media and writing career, my true solace lies on stage. After a long day at the office, nothing makes me happier than performing my stand-up comedy set around the city or hosting spoken-word poetry events at The Habitat, one of India’s premiere performance art venues.
Another source of pure joy for me (apart from my mom’s exquisite theplas), is making half-baked road trip plans with my old college friends. We’re all in our late 20s now but nothing makes us happier than hitting the road on the weekends. I’ve recently also re-discovered my love for long-distance cycling and have spent a lot of mornings cycling to the beach. It’s truly refreshing and dare I say, therapeutic. Lastly, I'm just beginning to realize how much I enjoy interacting with the new crop of young creative minds and to that effect have held creative workshops and been invited as a mentor for festivals like Mithibai College's Kshitij, Dhirubhai Ambani International School's Kalakar, Podar International School's Zenith among others.
I truly feel mature now that I'm on the brink of my 30s and want to spend the next decade of my life in a new country. I don’t have many dislikes except fussy clients, tough missions in Red Dead Redemption II, mojitos that have lesser rum than mint leaves.
