Nishant has experience in the domain of engineering and manufacturing to develop dynamically sound components using Analysis Led Design [ALD] methodologies which ensures the process flow from virtual design to actual prototype within the design model using proactive iterations. He worked as a research fellow for Engineering for Change [E4C] by ASME in the Health sector focussing on Engineering for Global Development [EGD].
His research focuses on the development of a low-cost and functionally active compound finger mechanism to rectify the problem faced by conventional upper limb prostheses lacking the capability of adaptive grasp and pinch, that can be mounted on the amputee’s body considering the cosmetic and bionic appearance of the hand without any surgical procedure. Presently, he is working contentedly as the CEO at lifeandlimb.ai
