Nishant Upadhyay is the Founder & CEO of Tatvamasi Research Pvt. Ltd., a DPIIT-recognized climate-tech startup based in Gujarat that turns industrial emissions into profitable products. A cross-functional builder with 17+ years across industrial R&D, process design, sales, marketing, and academia, Nishant leads Tatvamasi’s technology, intellectual property, investor relations, and go-to-market.
At Tatvamasi, he is the principal architect of a patented modular catalytic wet scrubber that captures CO₂, SO₂, NOₓ, VOCs, and particulate matter while producing monetizable co-products such as CO₂ gas, NaOH, green H₂, Cl₂, and 10+ related salts and extracts. The system integrates in-house chemical production & regeneration (eliminating dependence on external supply), waste-water treatment with high reuse, and AI–IoT monitoring for predictive maintenance and optimized recovery. Designed for capital efficiency, Tatvamasi’s model combines zero-CAPEX deployment via SIDBI/CSR partners with by-product offtake and carbon-credit monetization, orchestrated through an ERP + CRM backbone that coordinates vendors, pilots, and remote field teams—and is slated to interface with onsite robotics for installation and service.
Nishant has filed four provisional patents (2025) as the lead inventor, covering UV-ozone-assisted catalytic scrubbing, chlor-alkali integration, and on-site oxidizing fluid generation for comprehensive pollutant control. Under his leadership, Tatvamasi has been shortlisted in the Top 50 of the Clear Skies Challenge 2025 (Industrial Emission Control) and Top 100 of the Tata Social Enterprise Challenge (TSEC) 2025, strengthening external validation for the company’s pilot pipeline and pre-seed fundraising.
Before Tatvamasi, Nishant spent five years in academia teaching B.Pharm and M.Pharm students, where he developed an Excel-based statistical optimization tool that replicated Design of Experiments (DoE) outputs and was adopted by 20+ M.Pharm and 10 PhD researchers. He subsequently worked three years in pharma sales and four years in pharma marketing, building a commercial intuition that now informs Tatvamasi’s B2B adoption strategy. Over the last five years of industrial R&D, alongside the scrubber program, he also developed PU and foam pipeline pigs for oil & gas applications, including a custom manufacturing machine, and conceived an ERP application to streamline field operations—experience that directly shaped Tatvamasi’s systems approach.
Nishant’s current focus is executing pilot showcases in Gujarat and Maharashtra, expanding offtake partnerships for CO₂ and chemicals, and closing a $350k pre-seed to scale pilots, AI-managed deployment, and international IP filings—laying the groundwork for multi-country licensing.
