IIT-B Graduate, Poet who turned to be an entrepreneur. Meet Rishabh Jain.

Rishabh Jain was born and raised in Jodhpur in a traditional business family. A Board Merit holder and an IIT-B Graduate who’s making it big with his co-founder Mudit Jain through their education startup Qriyo ( www.qriyo.com )

He has been in serious love with poetry which made him start writing Hindi poetry at the age of 15 only. His first book "Main, Aap aur India" was published when he was in class 11th. He didn't stop just there.

“As a student I did not like Chemistry much, because there was lot to remember. After I cleared JEE in 2009, I wrote a small help book on Chemistry Named Memory Aids for Chemistry. The first edition got sold out in a month. Second and third edition got printed in '10 and ’14 respectively." he told us.

We had an amazing conversation with him regarding his stories and experiences.
He is not a typical engineering as he shares his experiences at IIT Bombay “I joined IIT Bombay, Civil Engineering in 2009. It was a wonderful experience with lots of learning and new connections. It shaped my thought process and gave me a direction about what I wanted to do. I always knew that I wanted to build my own company. Had that Entrepreneurship infection within me. So after college, I started a structural consultancy firm in partnership with a senior IITB alumnus called Incube Designs. We did around 40 projects in a span of one year.“

Talking about the foundation of his present startup 'Qriyo' and meeting his co-founder Mudit Jain who hails not just from the same IIT-B but also the same school as Rishabh, he says “In July 2015, I met Mudit, my senior from IITB and school as well. He was working on a very interesting idea of 1-on-1 learning. I loved the concept and instantly started working together. In September 2015, we started Qriyo.”
So, what is Qriyo? Rishabh tells us “Qriyo was started with a vision to provide personalised learning at a massive scale. We focused on automating 'Home Tuition Agency' model. Today we have presence in 8 cities, with over 3500 tuitions delivered. We are category leaders in the cities we operate in and Qriyo app is India's first managed home tuition app.”

Before wrapping up our conversation with Rishabh, we asked him about three learnings from his startup experience that he can share for all future entrepreneurs.
This is what he shared.
1. Trust People and Delegate Work: When you are good at something, you have that notion that nobody can handle this better then you. Hence, you hesitate in delegating the work. Without the team taking responsibility and without trusting the employees, no company can grow.
2. Accountability: Everyone, including the founders, should be accountable to everyone. This keeps everyone in check and helps to meet deadlines. Create an open task sheet in which everyone can see each other's tasks and progress.
3. Network: It is super important to keep on meeting people. It gives lots of new perspectives and ideas. Chances of success increase with a bigger and more powerful network. Networking is a two-way process - start helping others and it will come back to you automatically.

The eChai Effect - In Their Words

“You don’t plan to build a company via eChai. You just keep showing up … and one day, you realize you did.” I’ve known Jatin since 2012, when I was still deciding what kind of second innings I wanted to play as an entrepreneur. Over the years, through events, chai breaks, intros, and seemingly small conversations, eChai helped shape not just Upsquare but also refined the lens through which we see collaboration. At Upsquare, we’ve hired talent, met partners, discovered co-investors, and built lifelong friendships. One of our joint ventures exists today only because a casual eChai memory sparked a deeper trust. Now, as we build House of Starts — our venture builder — eChai continues to fuel our mission: co-creating a shared future. eChai isn’t just a startup network. It’s a trust network. And for business builders like me, that makes all the difference."

"eChai is playing biggest role in my personal and professional life together. Its a community where i meet like minded people to share idea and learn from their idea. Even while playing cricket i learn something and i implement something new from that learning. Its my entry point for building network in different countries where my base is not established yet. Personally my only fun activity day in a week is eChai cricket and social."

"If there’s one phrase that sums up my journey, it’s truly ‘The eChai Effect.’ Six years ago, I simply walked into my first eChai event, not knowing what to expect. The honest conversations, energy, and inspiration from founders and entrepreneurs struck a chord within me. That eChai spark became the catalyst for everything to follow. I proudly say: my entrepreneurship journey started—and keeps evolving—because of eChai. Redicine Medsol’s story is integrally linked to this community. I’ve gained so much, not just as a founder but as a forever volunteer and grateful member of the eChai family. With all my heart, thank you Jatin Bhai and everyone at eChai for shaping, guiding, and supporting my dreams. The eChai Effect will always be a part of my story."
