    Ilias Ism builds SEO tools such as LinkDR. Awake is a free macOS app he wrote for one problem: a laptop that sleeps with its lid shut stops an AI agent mid-run.

    Every time you start a long Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor run and close your MacBook lid to walk away, macOS triggers Clamshell Sleep, drops Wi-Fi, and kills your agent.

    Bare caffeinate only blocks idle sleep. Raw sudo pmset -a disablesleep 1 leaves your screen unlocked and cooks your MacBook to 50°C+ in a backpack.

    So I open-sourced Awake for macOS:
    - Close the lid on battery, Wi-Fi & agents stay running (caffeinate -dims + pmset disablesleep)
    - Locks your screen the instant the lid closes (SACLockScreenImmediate)
    - Backpack circuit breaker: pauses at ≤10% battery or ≥40°C, then auto-resumes when cooled/charged
    - Native macOS Control Center toggle + Menu Bar timer + CLI (awake 45m, awake -- codex ..., asleep)
