Tejeshwi Sharma runs Mettle Capital, an early-stage fund in India. After trying to get agents to order on Zomato, Uber and Blinkit, his bet is that general assistants take the rare purchases and every high-frequency app gets its own agent on WhatsApp.

I have been trying to use AI agents to transact on @zomato, @Uber_India and @letsblinkit. Lots of friction. Until agents can show these marketplaces' catalogs and inventory as generative UI, user experience will be far from ideal.
My bet: horizontal personal agents will win the long tail / low-frequency use cases, like buying insurance, an obscure brand, or a chair etc
But every high-frequency apps like ride-hailing, food, fashion etc will have its own agent on @WhatsApp.
In the mobile era, you had a home screen full of apps. In the AI era, you will have a WhatsApp full of agents.
