Michael Domarkas is 19 and founded Frontier Computing in London. He has been culturing neuronal tissue since he was 17, the company is in Y Combinator's Summer 2026 batch, and it has raised a $10 million pre-seed led by General Catalyst. The argument is that a GPU spends most of its energy moving data between memory and compute, where a neuron does both in the same place. The clip follows Cortical Labs' 2022 result of neurons in a dish learning Pong, and the 2,500x is measured against their CL1, which runs about 200,000 neurons. The 500 million-neuron cluster is a plan rather than a thing that exists.
