What will the next generation of Indian fintech companies look like? More specialized. More personalized. And, increasingly, more global.
Fascinating conversation between @Razorpay's @harshilmathur and Peak XV’s @mobhat at @GffFintechfest today on building fintech companies from India for global scale.
Things that stood out:
• The next fintech wave goes beyond access. India’s first fintech era brought millions of consumers and businesses online. A deeper market now creates room to solve much more specific customer problems and still build at significant scale.
• AI makes that depth possible. As the cost of personalization falls, founders can build products across languages, customer segments and use cases in ways that were previously too expensive or complex.
• India’s fintech experience is increasingly exportable. With 49% of the world’s real-time payments happening here, Indian companies have had to solve for extraordinary scale and complexity. Those capabilities can become increasingly relevant in markets following a similar real-time payments journey.
There is still a huge amount to build in India. And an increasingly compelling opportunity to build from India for the world. 🙌
