Yesterday was one of the toughest days I've had this year. We lost @KhadimBatti suddenly.

I first met Khadim when I was 22, starting at Powerhouse Ventures. He was one of the most approachable and beloved founders in our ecosystem, and he inspired countless founders, especially in SaaS, to build global companies from India (myself included). I learnt so many things from him.

I still can't quite believe he's gone. Words fall short of what everyone who knew him is feeling right now.

My deepest condolences to his Khadim's family, to Vara, and to everyone at @whatfix. May his soul rest in peace.

Most rounds are lost in the meeting before the meeting, the informal partner call that decides whether your deal even reaches the Monday partnership.

Term sheets are downstream artifacts. If the narrative, comps, and champion are wired correctly, terms tend to normalise. If they aren't, no clever mechanic recovers the round.

Whether equity, debt, or structured capital, dilution and cost of capital are the last things to negotiate, not the first things to fear. Clarity of use of proceeds and path to liquidity always outrank valuation theatre.
