Basics of Starting Up - Startup Saturday Ahmedabad March Edition

Happened on March 11, Saturday, 2017
10:30pm — 01:30am (GMT+05:30)
Venture Studio
Event Details:

Paul Graham(Co-Founder, YCombinator) once said: “You need three things to create a successful startup: to start with good people, to make something customers actually want, and to spend as little money as possible. Most startups that fail do it because they fail at one of these. A startup that does all three will probably succeed.”

With 2 editions of Headstart’s How to Start a Startup? behind us covering 2 of the crucial pain-points of founders; Idea Validation and Building a great team, we turn our attention to another vital issue, that majority of the founders face, actually starting up.

To combat this and guide our fellow entrepreneurs, the theme for the March edition of the 6-month long series is, Basics of Starting Up. The edition where the nitty-gritty's of starting up, from the legal compliances to a 101 on Incorporation, from understanding your equity and ESOP arrangements to Employee and Vendor contracts, the initiative will have it all.

Ignorance is often touted to be a bliss, but for founders, not being aware of the extensive business regulations in India can be an expensive business later on, and one they would like to avoid. To understand the nuances of the law and the multiple threads of it, join Headstart Ahmedabad on 11th March, 2017.

"At DevX.Work, we’ve greatly benefited from our association with eChai. "I attended my first eChai event 3 yrs back, and no one knew me in the market. Over the next three years, eChai didn’t only help me with knowledge or networking, but it gave me an identity from being unknown to now being recognized by a group of inspirational entrepreneurs connected with eChai, who have been gracious enough to acknowledge me and Digipple."

"For me, eChai is a second home. I've been associated with it since the early days, when it was already setting a different tone for how startup communities could work. As a traditional business owner entering the new-age D2C space, eChai supported me in every direction. Over the years, it became my window to the startup world — and also gave me lifelong friends who continue to show up, for business and beyond."
