Google's own documentation on how pages appear in AI Overviews and AI Mode, which settles what is and is not required before you spend on a separate programme for it.
AI features and your website
From Google Search Central 8 min read
- Google says AI Overviews and AI Mode need no special optimisation and have no additional requirements beyond normal Search.
- To be shown as a supporting link a page must be indexed and eligible to appear with a snippet.
- Traffic from AI features is counted in Search Console's Performance report under the Web search type.
- No new machine-readable files, AI text files or special schema are needed; snippet controls such as nosnippet limit what is shown.
