Nisarg Shah

I’m Nisarg Shah. I live in Vapi, Gujarat, and I work in two worlds that look unrelated.

By day I’m a Web Developer Analyst and Project Manager. The rest of my time goes to FLY360, the kite company I run from Vapi.

Kites have been in my life since 1996, when they were a family craft. In 2017 we turned that craft into a company. Since then, FLY360 has delivered 700+ aerial events across four continents, worked with 500+ corporate clients, and made over 1,00,000 custom kites. The events have been in India, the UAE, Spain, Turkey, Mauritius and Uganda. Our clients include Gujarat tourism, Malayasian airlines, State bank of mauritius, Duracell, Coca-Cola, Radio City FM and IPL teams.

Some moments I’m proud of:

Winning First Prize from Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Gujarat International Kite Festival for a fully working kite 1.5 inches across.
Receiving a Letter of Appreciation from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam for our “Pushpak Space Shuttle” kite design.
Holding two Limca Book of Records entries: 1,150 kites on one 1.2 km line for the #PulseOfTheSky campaign with DS Group, and a kite-making workshop for 1,017 people in one sitting.
Having our kites shown in the World Kite Museums in Washington D.C, USA. and Istanbul, Turkey.

What I bring is a habit of treating a craft like a system. We design connectors in AutoCAD and print them in ASA, Nylon and PETG on 3D printers when no part exists. I also work on the website’s SEO and speed myself.

What I care about is a simple idea: technical precision doesn’t get in the way of imagination, it lets big ideas fly safely and repeatably. I want to keep making kites that people look up at, and to build a company that can do that on any sky in the world.

I’m building FLY360 into India’s best-known aerial experience company. We turn the sky into a stage and a media channel for brands, tourism boards and festivals, with kites we design and manufacture ourselves. Our work is huge and visual, but it is hard to explain in a search
