Building MYCPE ONE
Shalin (Shawn) Parikh co-founded MYCPE ONE with Valay Parikh. A Chartered Accountant by qualification and an entrepreneur by choice, he leads the company's strategy and growth, and has spent more than two decades building businesses that serve the accounting profession, from staffing and education to compliance, technology and advisory.
His interest in business started early. Shawn was reading company annual reports while still in school, which grew into a lasting passion for financial analysis and value investing. Today he actively backs public and private ventures, and he is particularly committed to helping India-based companies scale globally, driven by a belief that world-class innovation can emerge from anywhere.
What began in 2014 with a single client and a simple conviction, that global talent could give small and mid-size CPA firms the capacity they needed to grow, has become a platform trusted by 3,000+ firms. Under his leadership, MYCPE ONE has grown from a talent partner into a complete ecosystem for accounting firms, and is now steering towards becoming an AI-first enterprise, building tools that raise productivity across the tax and accounting industry.
Why Small and Mid-Sized Firms
Shalin (Shawn) Parikh is a strong advocate of small businesses. In his words, “Small businesses are the backbone of the global economy.” That belief has always shaped his focus on small and mid-size accounting firms.
The idea behind MYCPE ONE came from a clear gap. Large firms and the Big 4 can set up their own offices in India, absorb local challenges and compete for the best talent. Small and mid-size firms cannot. What they need is a trusted partner who understands their requirements, hires the right people for them, and handles data security and confidentiality with the same care they would. MYCPE ONE was built to be that partner, giving smaller firms access to global talent so they can compete with much larger players.
Shawn also admires businesses that create or enable micro-entrepreneurs, such as Uber, Airbnb and Urban Company, and sees a similar opportunity in helping independent accounting firms grow on their own terms.
Creating Opportunities Beyond the Metros
Shalin (Shawn) Parikh believes India's real talent lives well beyond its top few cities. Acting on that belief, he took MYCPE ONE into Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities so professionals can build global careers closer to home, creating 5,000+ job opportunities, including for semi-qualified Chartered Accountants and CA dropouts whose skills and experience often go overlooked.
In 2022, he signed Memoranda of Understanding with two state governments: with the Government of Gujarat under its IT/ITeS Policy 2022–27, committing to invest up to INR 150 crore and create 3,000 jobs in the state, and with the Government of Kerala and the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) Kerala, to provide employment to 500+ young professionals and build their skills for the BFSI and IT/ITeS sectors.
