I’m Nitin Lad, a founder and product engineer with a background in engineering and healthcare innovation.

My first health-tech venture addressed a problem I understood well, supported by nearly nine years of close relationships with doctors. During COVID, however, the venture failed after its CTO departed, leaving an unfinished product that I could not independently complete. The experience taught me the risk of building a company around technical dependency and led me to become a full-stack developer.

Returning immediately to healthcare would have meant building the connected ecosystem my solution required, rather than a focused standalone application. I did not want to repeat the same mistake. I first needed to prove that I could independently take a technology product from an idea to a working, live business.

Around that time, an ordinary afternoon with my children revealed a problem that felt both deeply personal and much larger than me. The days they were born were preserved in photographs, but the later moment when I truly understood what becoming their father meant had left no visible trace. Outwardly, nothing happened; inwardly, everything changed.

That absence became The Genesis.

Genesis is creating a new category called Permanent Recognition - for life-defining moments that changed who we became but left no mark of their own. The product is now live, and its first customers have begun establishing their own Permanent Recognition.

I care about understanding human behaviour, identifying important but overlooked problems, and building thoughtful technology that gives those problems a meaningful solution.

I’m building The Genesis, a new category called Permanent Recognition for life-defining moments that leave no mark of their own; with the product live and our first two sales completed, I’m now working to identify the audience and repeatable path to market that value it most.
