Priyanka Jain

I'm Priyanka, an architect and the founder of Bask Design Atelier, a multidisciplinary studio in Bangalore working across architecture, interiors and spatial brand strategy.

I trained as an architect and spent 2 years working in different places around the world, which shaped how I see space. Living among buildings designed to make you feel something taught me that a space is never neutral. It either supports the people in it, or it works against them.

That idea is the core of what I'm building. Most projects start with a brief and go straight to design. I work a step earlier, on what a space actually needs to do: who it's for, how it should feel, and what it has to achieve for the business. Then we design it, or guide whoever does.

So far I've done spatial brand work for miracle and ASBL Legacy, and designed an experience centre for Artizia by Marudhar, a quartz brand and other have other ongoing residential and commercial projects across Bangalore. I'm now partnering with a consumer-insight firm so developers and architects get research and spatial strategy together.

I care about the thinking behind design: architecture theory, the psychology of space, and Indian spatial forms like the haveli, the step well and the mandapa. I'm also a certified yoga teacher, and that keeps me attentive to how bodies actually experience a room. Alongside the studio I write and sketch for Builtscape Journal, where I decode why buildings make us feel what they do.

I'm building a spatial strategy practice. I'm an architect, and I help developers, brands and businesses figure out what a space needs to do before anyone designs it: who it's for, how it should feel, what it should achieve commercially. Then we design it, or guide whoever does.
