I’ve never thought of myself as someone who fits into just one professional box. I’m someone who enjoys figuring things out, building from scratch, and taking responsibility for turning an idea into something real.
I’m Soumya Srivastava, a founder with an MBA in Human Resources and International Business and around five years of experience across healthcare, hospitality, and consumer startups. My journey has taken me through people management, business operations, growth, and brand building. I’ve also had previous startup experience in the skincare and personal care industry, where I learned how much goes into building a consumer brand beyond the product itself—from understanding customer behaviour to earning trust in a crowded market.
Those experiences shaped the way I approach entrepreneurship. I realised that I’m most comfortable in the space between an idea and its execution: figuring out what needs to happen, bringing people together, solving operational challenges, and doing the unglamorous work that keeps a business moving.
Today, I’m building IndiWilds, a botanical wellness brand rooted in India’s rich heritage of herbs, teas, and traditional ingredients.
What drew me to this space was the opportunity to build something distinctly Indian for a modern consumer. We have extraordinary botanical resources and generations of knowledge surrounding them, yet there is room to do much more with how these ingredients are sourced, presented, and brought into everyday life. I wanted to explore how we could build a brand that makes Indian botanicals feel relevant to a new generation without losing sight of where they come from.
With IndiWilds, we are developing herbal teas, botanical infusions, and herbal powders while working to build stronger sourcing relationships, including with Farmer Producer Organisations. Quality, thoughtful product development, and customer trust are central to our approach.
