Forty-odd founders in one resort in Goa last week, in matching jerseys, to welcome seven new companies into a cohort.

Seven. Not seventy.

That number is the entire thesis.

The program is SGx, run by AIBoomi. Sixteen weeks, focused entirely on GTM. Every founder needs at least $250,000 in AI revenue to be eligible.

No fee. No equity taken upfront.

The application page carries a section most programs would never write. It lists who the program is not for. If you are still hunting your first customer, if you want VC introductions, if you are looking for validation rather than honest feedback; it tells you to go somewhere else.

I have rarely seen a program work this hard to keep people out.

I went through it myself, with Clientjoy (Acquired by Synup). I am a wingmate in this cohort now, which is the part worth explaining.

The senior mentor has seen the pattern a hundred times. They tell you which of your problems is actually the problem, and which one you are hiding behind. That judgment takes decades to build and cannot be borrowed from anyone earlier in the climb.

The wingmate carries the current map. What we tried first. What failed quietly. Who we hired, at what stage, and what it cost us to get it wrong. Recent enough that the market has not shifted underneath it.

One tells you where to point. The other tells you how to move this quarter.
