eChai Ventures is a founder network. It is built by founders showing up at open meetups, demo days and dinners: every week they gather somewhere across 25+ cities in 10+ countries, and have been since 2009. It started in India, and founders who came to their first meetup years ago are still turning up, in cities they had not moved to yet. Every gathering is free and open, so nobody needs an invitation. The set-ups differ because founders are at different stages. A social is an evening of meeting whoever is building nearby. At a Demo Day, early-stage founders show what they are building to the founders in their city and get feedback the same evening. A founders dinner is one table, kept small so the conversation stays candid. A Startup Mixer is the simplest of them, and it is what we are proposing here. Between gatherings the network lives at echai.ventures: the founders and what they are building, the gatherings coming up in every city, and what founders have figured out about starting up, going to market, hiring and the rest, written down for the next person. Sometimes what you find here matters right away. More often it matters years later, when something changes: hiring, raising, going global, pivoting, moving city, starting over.
